Wannawiro Nature Park, nestled in the heart of West Suriname. This park lies 385km from the capital Paramaribo and consists metamorphic and igneous rocks. ITINERARY
4 days one way adventure Tour Paramaribo – West-Suriname
This 4 day basic adventure tour offers a unique experience to nature lovers. We will get to know the Flora and Fauna of the untouched rainforest of western Suriname. The dense jungle is the natural habitat for countless animal and plant species. On the way, you pass by friendly and always welcoming Amerindian villages, in the middle of savannas and swamp areas that is part of the tropical rainforest.
Day 1 – 3: Wannawiro Nature Park
8am: Departure from your hotel in Paramaribo.By car we will drive through the amazing nature to the Wannawiro Nature Park. A short boattrip away we will arrive this small river island in the middle of real untouched nature. All the huts are self built in a traditional way with wood and palm leaves and have single or double beds or hammocks for the real naturefeeling. Enclosed there is a spacious kitchen where we have some traditional Surinamese dish and have time to exchange some wildlife experiences. Here we will stay for three nights. With us there is a family of howling monkeys living on the island, so you can`t miss them. During the day (and also at night) we go for extended walks or hikes, boattrips,
observing animals, fishing, relaxing at the waterfalls or in the hammocks.. whatever you feel like.
Accomodation: Basic – single bed, double bed or hammocks
Day 4: Blanche Marie falls – Paramaribo
After breakfast at 8am we depart from Wannawiro Nature Park driving straight to Blanche Marie waterfalls, the second largest in Suriname. For a day trip . In dry season you can swim and get a nice massage from the waterfalls, but during the
rainseason the view of the falls is just breathtaking. After lunch we depart to Paramaribo
