Program
Our adventurous journey from Paramaribo to Albina starts at 7:30 am, a three-hour drive. From Albina we go by canoe to St. Laurant du Maroni in neighboring French Guiana, where the famous Papillon prison has housed prisoners since 1852. This historic complex is now an intriguing museum that we explore on a guided tour from 11am to 12pm. After the tour, we stroll past local shops and the market, where various communities sell their wares, before enjoying a tasty French lunch. Architecture lovers can admire old buildings before we sail again by boat to Albina at 3:30 PM and then return to Paramaribo by bus.
